HIT training scoop Gosport's top business award!
Hosted by Wave 105’s Steve Power, the third Gosport Business Awards’ gala awards ceremony at The Alverbank Hotel on 26th November was a glittering night recognising business excellence in the Borough.
Gosport-based companies were invited to “celebrate their success” and enter one or more of seven Award categories, including Customer Service Excellence, Benefit to the Community and Business Achievement. The winners from each category were also considered for the coveted prize of ‘Business of the Year’ - which this year went to HIT Training Ltd (pictured right).
HIT training was chosen because of their innovative techniques, passion for Gosport and positive impact on both customers and the local economy which has helped to set them apart. Their ethos of “success isn’t just about business, it’s about people’ has helped address the skills and employment needs of the Gosport workforce, providing additional resources and using local facilities.
Lester Biddle, the firm’s Business Manager, said “We are delighted to receive this Award, which recognises not only the achievements of HIT but also the dedication and commitment from our learners undertaking their qualifications, and the employers who have recognised the importance of developing and training their workforce now to benefit their business in the future”
Organised by Gosport Borough Council, the Awards are held to showcase the achievements of all types of companies, from sole traders to multi-nationals. Leader of the Council, Cllr Mark Hook commented: “Despite the economic challenges faced by the business community this year, these awards demonstrate the commitment that our businesses have to delivering excellence. I am delighted that we are able to publicly acknowledge the contribution these individuals and organisations make to the economic vitality of the Borough at this fantastic event.”
Wave 105’s Steve Power also said: “There were 18 fantastic and well deserving companies short-listed for these awards, so the judges must have had a very tough time selecting the winners. We are proud to have been associated with the awards which recognised business excellence in Gosport.”
